The active constituent, Bimatoprost is a synthetic structural analog of prostaglandin. Bimatoprost is a schedule H drug and belongs to a category of drugs called ophthalmic glaucoma agents. This drug was approved for therapeutic use in the United States in 2001. The molecular formula for Bimatoprost is C25H37NO4 and the molecular weight is 415.566g/mol. Careprost medication is not meant for use in persons below 16 years of age. It decreases pressure in the eyes by increasing the amount of aqueous fluid that drains from the eye.

It is supposed that Bimatoprost imitates the action of prostamides, which are endogenous substances present in the body. Prostamides are chemically similar to prostaglandins. It begins to reduce intraocular pressure after four hours, which persists for at least 24 hours. It may take up to two months to observe the complete benefits of Careprost medicine.

Dosages of Careprost:
